As the rain looms overhead on the eve of the Texas gubernatorial, I can't stop and think about how many puppies the campaign proceeds could have saved across the Texas plains had they been put to better use. My point being, all this time, all these funds, nothing changes and the issues just remain the same.

Just a touch too true.

As my colleague Lydia Penturf beautifully illustrated in her words and additional aww worthy picture, campaign budgets surmounted for the governorship are disgustingly large and hideously wasted. The idea of burning a mound of money to get a name to voters is reminiscent of the Gilded age, to which daisies (considered to be nothing special at the time) were dipped in gold and held in high regard. There was such a high demand prices exploded and any upper class was sure to boast it beauty and importance. I agree with Miss Penturf that there are legitimate causes that this money could be put to good use to.
